Baby it's a wild world ..

I wanted to do a round up of photos from our trip but I was finding the task a bit daunting, so I decided to simplify. One photo of Tiny in each country we explored and the finale ended up working out to be one of our very few family shots. What a wild ride it was, not her first big adventure but the biggest outside the womb (I'll share that other story sometime soon, it really deserves its very own post). Oh the places you've been little one, it really goes to show - home is where your heart is. xo

The Golden Circle

The Golden Circle, Iceland

A 300 kilometer / 190 mile magical loop from the capital to central Iceland and back around. Featuring the Geysir - from which all others are named, a waterfall of massive proportions and the original parliament to name a few. A wonderful way to spend a day exploring, whether driving, bus touring or hitching along for the beautiful ride. We hired a car and waited for a day where we felt like a long, lazy ride and taking our time whilst taking in the lush scenery and slow cups of tea along the way. The Icelandic scenery is like no other I have seen, the air is so fresh and the sunshine so soothing you just want to lay back and nap underneath while it rests softly upon your face. If you decide to go along for the ride be sure to bring waterproof boots, lots of layers and leave plenty of time for aimless wanderings.

The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon, Iceland

After Driving 40 Minutes outside of Reykjavik (and 90 minutes outside of the farm we are staying on), through terrain that I can only describe as looking like what you would imagine had you stepped foot on the moon, we arrived. I had been to other Geothermal pools, even ones in Iceland itself, but they were nothing in comparison to this magical place. The milky blue water was like the perfect bath and some spots were quite hot which was lovely on the chilly, gray skied Mid-August afternoon on which we visited. We had purchased the most basic entry which was perfect for us since we had brought our own towels and there were buckets of natural silica mud masks to lather on your skin, so we gave ourselves a free spa treatment while floating in the peaceful water. When you get too thirsty or just fancy a treat you can swim up to the pool bar for smoothies, slushies and ice cold beers and no money is necessary you just swipe your wrist ban used for entry and settle up when you depart. Its the ultimate day of relaxing and rejuvenating and even our two year old loved it and chilled out for a couple of hours. Also being only 20 minutes from the international airport it's the perfect entrance or exit from this beautiful land.
